Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, June 8, 2026: Nigerian currency returns to appreciation

The Naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market to begin the week on a good note on Monday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,362.84 on Monday from N1,362.21 traded last week Friday.

This means that on a day-to-day basis, the Naira gained N0.64 marginally against the dollar.

Meanwhile, in the black market, the Naira stood flat at N1,395 per dollar on Monday, the same exchange rate as at the end of last week.

The development comes as the country’s foreign reserves surged further to $50.12 billion as of Friday, June 5th, 2026, according to the apex bank data.

Recall that on Thursday and Friday, the Naira depreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
