2027: Ebonyi PDP Candidate Vows to Transform State Within One Year.

Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii promises practical governance, shuns "white elephant projects"

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Ebonyi State's 2027 election, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has made bold promises to tackle poverty, improve healthcare and education, and end communal crises if elected.

Speaking yesterday at his country home in Abakaliki, Odii addressed PDP leaders and supporters who gathered to welcome him back to the state. The candidate, who said he had spent years supporting people through personal resources before entering politics, declared his campaign would be built on proven track records.

"My campaign slogan is: 'Show me what you've done. I will show you what I've done,'" Odii stated, arguing that anyone who hadn't helped the needy, paid hospital bills, or supported education as a private citizen lacked the qualifications to govern.

The aspirant described himself as a humanist and activist, promising to prioritize good governance and programmes that directly improve living conditions. He explicitly ruled out what he called "white-elephant projects," stating he would not build flyovers or airports, instead focusing on education, primary healthcare, agriculture, security, and civil servants' welfare, including access roads to help farmers transport produce.

Odii gave Ebonyians a one-year benchmark to judge his performance, challenging voters to hold him accountable if people from the state continued hawking or working as nannies, if communal land crises persisted, or if civil servants struggled to pay their children's school fees.

He urged residents to resist intimidation during the 2027 election and protect their votes, saying: "Bad governance does not bring good governance. Good governance brings prosperity."

Odii thanked PDP leaders and supporters for the reception, noting he had returned to Ebonyi for a brother's burial but was overwhelmed by the turnout, pledging to keep returning to pursue freedom and better governance for the people.
