The Real Path to a Healthy Lifestyle
Most people think living healthy takes being wealthy to achieve, but the fact is that it starts with adapting to little important habits.
A healthy lifestyle starts from an intentionally made decision on what you plan to change in your life, opening yourself to learning, to patience, to discipline, to consistency, even when it seems tiring.
Transforming yourself to become a better version of you, starts from atomic, petit-a-petit, baby steps such as:
- Buying the fruit instead of junk
- Making that five minutes jumping jack every day instead of trying to do loads of workout for hours.
- Walking to the nearby grocery store instead of driving there.
- Taking naps when exhausted instead of fixing your eyes, scrolling on social media
- Take time for privacy and meditation instead of unnecessary small talks.
I know it may seem like I’m beginning to paint the life of an introvert over here, but this here is the fact, choosing these little suggested habits over the ones you’re used to, is the minimal way of showing self-love and living healthy.
It doesn’t mean that the habits were already used to are bad, watching shorts is even a way of escaping mental stress, but the issue here is your ability to create a balance between these habits.
Even if these habits look easy, we both know the truth, that for one who plans to try the newly suggested habits, it’s going to be a hurdle, except if you’re someone who’s already used to the lifestyle suggested above.
Sometimes, you may be tempted to break the rules, which I already said is not a crime as long as there is an established balance between these habits.
So the things that I’ve suggested a few atomic habits that would help your living healthy, what then is the strategy to imbibing these atomic habits, and for you who’s already accustomed to these habits, where’s the motivation to keep up with it.
Worry no more coz I’ll be providing it for you.
Mind you, living healthy does not only boil down to food, though it’s a major inclusion to what living healthy entails.
However, here are tested and trusted strategies to adapting to the suggested habits.
These strategies may also be applied to other parts of our life, especially if we aim to stop an old habit and incorporate a new one.
You must note that success is a result of daily habits.
Tactic one: Write down everything you do in a day and label it as e.g.: I will (task) at (time) today.
Tactic Two: Identify a habit you already do and stack a new one on top. Using the old one as a reward for doing the new one.
Tactic Three: That new habit, spend at least two minutes bringing it to life.
Tactic Four: Create a new temptation bundle, something that will remind you of your new habit, for instance, if you plan to read a book, keep the book on the TV or close to your bed as a reminder OR if you plan to take your medication, place it on top of the fridge or kitchen counter.
Tactic Five: Only do the fun thing after doing the boring thing.
Will it get tiring?
The truth is that it would because our minds have been programmed to crave entertainment, but remember the goal, the trophy that lies ahead of you, and let that be your constant motivation.
