Michael Saylor Reveals $5.1 Billion Bitcoin Profit for Strategy as Firm Now Holds Nearly 4% of Total Supply.

Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), announced on Tuesday that the company has realized a staggering $5.1 billion in Bitcoin profits so far in 2026, fueled largely by a powerful second-quarter rally.

According to a periodic treasury performance report shared by Saylor, Strategy has accumulated a total of 63,410 BTC in net gains since January 1. These profits are measured by the increase in the value of the company’s massive Bitcoin holdings relative to its purchase price.

From Losses to Billions in Weeks:

The dramatic turnaround comes after a turbulent start to the year. Throughout late 2025 and early 2026, Strategy endured a painful period of deep unrealized losses as Bitcoin prices fluctuated heavily. However, the firm remained committed to its aggressive "Bitcoin treasury" strategy, continuing to buy even during the downturn.

That patience began to pay off in early April, when Bitcoin entered a rapid price resurgence amid a sustained crypto market rally. The report notes that Strategy officially exited loss territory in the first week of April, and in the less than two months since, the firm has amassed the bulk of its 2026 profits.

While the first quarter showed modest gains, the second quarter of 2026 has proven exceptionally bullish. Strategy’s quarter-to-date Bitcoin gains stand at 46,222 BTC — meaning nearly three-quarters of its $5.1 billion profit has been generated in just over five weeks of Q2 trading.

Strategy Now Controls 3.9% of All Bitcoin:

With its relentless accumulation strategy—buying through volatility, dips, and rallies—Strategy has cemented its position as the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.

The company's total Bitcoin holdings have now reached 818,334 BTC, worth over $66 billion at current market prices. This massive reserve means Strategy alone controls 3.9% of Bitcoin's total fixed supply of 21 million coins.

"The discipline of buying and holding Bitcoin through every market phase continues to deliver asymmetric returns for our shareholders," Saylor said in a statement accompanying the report.

Market Implications:

Analysts note that Strategy's growing dominance—approaching 4% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist—adds a new dynamic to the crypto market. The company's periodic purchase reports have become major market-moving events, and its reluctance to sell any significant amount of BTC has helped tighten available supply on exchanges.

With Bitcoin showing continued strength in Q2 2026 and Strategy's yield multiplying by the week, industry observers are now watching to see whether the firm will approach the 5% ownership threshold by year's end.
