Transfer window heats up

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup entering its final stages, Europe's biggest clubs have shifted their focus to the summer transfer market, as negotiations intensify ahead of the new season. The Premier League transfer window, which opened on 15 June, will remain open until 1 September, giving clubs time to strengthen their squads.

Arsenal are among the busiest clubs in the market, with reports indicating that the Gunners have stepped up their pursuit of Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options. Meanwhile, Barcelona are monitoring Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro as they continue searching for reinforcements at full-back.

Manchester United are also expected to remain active before the window closes, with the club continuing its squad rebuild under new management. Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are all monitoring several targets as they prepare for another highly competitive Premier League campaign.

Across Europe, Bayern Munich are weighing up potential moves to strengthen their squad, while Liverpool continue to assess options in attack amid growing speculation surrounding several high-profile forwards. Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan are also exploring opportunities to add proven quality before the deadline.

One of the notable developments involves Colombian striker Jhon Durán, who is on the verge of returning to European football after Benfica reached an agreement in principle with Al Nassr over a loan deal that includes an option to make the move permanent. The transfer is seen as an opportunity for the 22-year-old to revive his career after a difficult spell in Saudi Arabia.

Financially, Premier League clubs continue to dominate the market, accounting for the largest share of spending across Europe. Analysts expect transfer activity to accelerate significantly once the World Cup concludes, with several major deals already in advanced negotiations.

With weeks still remaining before the transfer deadline, supporters can expect more blockbuster signings, surprise moves and intense competition as clubs race to complete their business before the 2026/27 season gets underway.
