Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has arrived at the Federal High Court sitting in the state capital for the continuation of proceedings in his ongoing corruption trial.

El-Rufai arrived at the court accompanied by officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigeria Police Force.

The case involves allegations of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct during his tenure as governor.

According to the prosecutors, funds were improperly released for projects that were either not executed or were irregularly managed.

Meanwhile, El-Rufai has denied all the charges and maintains his innocence.

During Monday’s sitting, the court is expected to continue hearing motions and arguments from both the prosecution and defence as the case progresses.
