Antonio Conte has reached an agreement with Napoli to terminate his contract.

The deal has one year to run, but Conte has decided to leave the Serie A side this summer.

The former Inter Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham boss guided the club to their fourth Serie A title a year ago.

But despite winning the Italian Super Cup in December, Napoli finished 11 points behind champions Inter Milan this season.

An official club statement read: “SSC Napoli announces that an agreement has been reached with Antonio Conte and his staff to part ways before the natural expiry of their contracts.

“We would like to thank the coach and his backroom team for their excellent work. We wish them the very best for the future and the next challenges they will face in their careers.”

Conte has been linked with a return to manage Italy, a job he held between 2014 and 2016.
