Ghana Snatch Unbelievable 95th Minute Winner to Break Panama’s Hearts in Toronto.

In a match that looked destined to end in a dull stalemate, Ghana pulled off a last gasp heist against Panama, stealing a 1-0 victory with literally the last kick of the game. The hero? Twenty year old Caleb Yirenkyi, who wrote his name into World Cup folklore by scoring the tournament's latest winner so far a dramatic 95th minute strike that sent the Ghanaian bench into absolute chaos.

For 94 minutes, this Group L clash in Toronto was a tactical snoozefest. Panama, still hunting for their first ever World Cup point after three failed attempts, completely neutralized Ghana's star man Antoine Semenyo. The Black Stars didn't even manage a single shot in the first half yes, you read that right. Zero. It was that kind of game.

Then came the cavalry. Coventry City's Brandon Thomas-Asante was thrown on just before the hour mark, and his energy finally gave Ghana some bite. But even then, it felt like Panama would hold on. They even had their own chances Martinez fired into the side netting, and Ayew looked certain to score from Semenyo's cutback until a desperate last-ditch tackle from Ramos somehow kept it out.

Just when everyone was mentally preparing for a 0-0 draw, the drama unfolded. Deep into stoppage time, Thomas-Asante found space down the left and sent a looping cross into the box. There was Yirenkyi, completely unmarked, to bundle the ball over the line from close range. Cue wild celebrations. Panama threw everything forward in response even their goalkeeper Mosquera went up and won a header in the box but it was too little, too late.

It was brutally harsh on Panama, who deserved at least a point. Now, with England and Croatia still to come, their World Cup dream looks all but over. As for Ghana? They'll need to play a whole lot better, but right now, they don't care they've got three points and a moment their young star will never forget.

"We battled like warriors," said Ghana boss Carlos Queiroz. "We won with our brains. We had to suffer first this is the way to win."
