The Secretary to the Kano State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, has directed the Director-General of the Kano Geographic Information System (KANGIS), Dr Dalhatu Aliyu Sani, to assume the role of acting Managing Director of the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA).

The appointment follows the suspension of the substantive Managing Director of KNUPDA, Hauwa Hassan Tudun-Wada, over alleged irregularities in the administration of town planning and physical development in the state.

The development was disclosed through Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s media aide, Hon. Nanu Kankarofi, who said the move forms part of ongoing reforms in the state’s urban planning sector.

According to him, the decision also coincides with the setting up of an investigative committee to examine alleged violations of planning regulations and other operational issues within KNUPDA.
