Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide just had a Monday to remember. The Lagos State University graduate walked away with a cool N10 million cash prize after being named the university's best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme handed over the hefty cheque during the university's combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremony held at the Olatunji Bello Auditorium on the Epe Campus.

By the Numbers:

Oluolamide's academic record is nothing short of remarkable. The Aerospace Engineering graduate posted a 4.97 CGPA out of a possible 5.00 – that's just a hair's breadth away from perfection.

He wasn't just the best in his department; he topped the entire graduating class of over 20,000 students across two academic sessions.

More Than Just Grades:

But this young achiever is more than his transcript. Throughout his undergraduate journey, Oluolamide balanced rigorous academics with meaningful extracurricular work. He's been actively involved in research and has academic publications to his name.

Just last month, he announced that two of his research papers had been accepted for presentation at the prestigious Society of Petroleum Engineers' NAICE 2026 conference in Lagos.

He also scooped up the Scholar of the Year award at the AESA LASU Dinner for the second time during his undergraduate studies a feat he described as "the best way to close a chapter."

Humble in Victory:

Despite his impressive achievements, Oluolamide remains grounded. He took to social media to dedicate his success to God, writing: "All glory to God for His grace, wisdom, and strength every step of the way. What God cannot do does not exist!"

A Record-Breaking Convocation

LASU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, revealed that this year's convocation was particularly special, with 494 students graduating with First-Class honours across both sessions.
