Night of Terror: Bandits Strike Three Kwara Communities, Drag Residents into the Dark.

0:00 0:00

It was a terrifying Thursday night in parts of Kwara State. Around 10 p.m., armed bandits carried out coordinated attacks on three separate communities Gaa-Alla and Gaa-Oke Abba in Isin Local Government Area, and Famole in Ifelodun Local Government Area.

According to the state Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, two people were snatched from Gaa-Alla. He said security forces police, military, and forest guards are already on the trail of the assailants.

But locals tell a more disturbing story. In Famole Community, residents allegedly fought back, exchanging gunfire with the bandits. That confrontation turned deadly, with at least one person killed. While police only confirmed two abductions in Gaa-Alla, sources in the affected areas fear the number of kidnapped victims could be higher, especially from Gaa-Oke Abba, where the full scale of the attack is still unclear.

One community member described the scene as chaotic, adding, “In Gaa-Oke Abba, we still don’t know how many were taken. People are still searching, still counting.”

Famole, which sits along the Share Oke Ode Road near the Oyi River, became the epicenter of the bloodshed after locals dared to resist.

As of the time of this report, security forces are combing the area, but no arrests have been made. The bandits remain at large.
