Strait of Hormuz: US Retaliates with Strikes after Iran Attacks Ships
The U.S. unleashed series of powerful strikes against Iran on Tuesday, 7th July following Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM reports that American forces have hit over 80 targets with precision ammunitions.
It added that more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' small boats were hit, so as to degrade Iran's ability to attack international commerce.
Centcom added that the strikes were "to impose heavy costs for targeting and attacking commercial shipping crewed by innocent civilians in an international waterway."

The United States revoked a sanctions waiver on Iranian oil earlier Tuesday as pressure built.
Kuwait also accused Iran of fresh attacks on Wednesday, a day after the U.S. completed strikes against Iran in retaliation for Tehran's attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The Kuwaiti foreign ministry condemned "the repeated heinous Iranian aggressions against the State of Kuwait, the latest of which occurred this morning, in flagrant violation of its sovereignty," according to a translation of a post on X.
