They Killed Their Own Schoolmate After an Exam – Lagos Police Arrest Two Suspects.
Lagos State Police have arrested two young men accused of kidnapping and murdering a 17-year-old UTME candidate, Thompson Adams, in the Ikorodu area.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, briefed journalists on Wednesday at the command headquarters in Ikeja. He named the suspects as Elijah Emmanuel (23) and Tony Ogenata (21), saying they were picked up on Monday around 8 p.m. following a tip-off.
According to the police, the teenager had just written his exam on Wednesday, April 22, and was heading back when the two suspects—who were his former secondary school classmates—lured him to their apartment. That’s where they killed him.
“They went out with their friend, Adams, and along the line, they murdered him,” Tijani said. The suspects then stuffed his body into a bag and dumped it somewhere in the community.
But that wasn’t the first time. During interrogation, the police discovered the pair had carried out a similar crime months earlier. In November 2025, they kidnapped and killed a young woman who was the girlfriend of one of them. They contacted her parents and demanded a ransom. The family paid N300,000, but the suspects killed her anyway.
The police said the suspects will be charged in court as soon as investigations are completed.
