“Don’t Let Them Use You to Kill Our Democracy”: Timi Frank Fires Warning to Nigerian Judge.

In a blunt, emotional appeal, former APC spokesperson Comrade Timi Frank has urged Nigerian judicial officers to resist political pressure warning that the world is watching how they handle sensitive cases involving the opposition.

Frank, who also serves as an ambassador for the ULMWP, specifically called out ongoing legal battles surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its former deputy chairman, Nafiu Bala Gombe. He claims there are backroom moves by the presidency to intimidate the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court with corruption allegations just to assign the ADC case to a judge who would rule against the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

“The international community is paying close attention,” Frank said. “If judges allow themselves to be used by the government to undermine the electoral process, there will be consequences not just for them, but for their families.”

He didn’t stop at the Federal High Court. Frank extended his warning to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, reminding them that foreign governments, especially the U.S., could impose sanctions on judges seen as enabling anti democratic rulings.

“This election is sensitive. Anyone helping to truncate democracy through fraudulent judgments should be ready to face the fallout,” he added.

Frank insists that democracy can only survive when all qualified parties and candidates are free to compete and that the judiciary must not become a weapon in the hands of politicians.
