Have you ever struggled to spell a word you had always known? Have you ever felt stuck with a word when writing an essay? Autocorrect is the reason behind this. Now almost everyone makes use of a smart phone, tablets or computer system. These devices make use of auto-correct. It was created for a good reason but the disadvantage of auto-correct has been overlooked. Students now find it hard to write correctly. Due to heavy reliance on auto-correct. lack of interest in mastering the spellings of words since their gadgets often play the role of reference when doubt arises about a word’s spelling. That's why “thst” can be mistaken for " that".  Auto-correct has promoted lazy writers and spellers. With the aid of auto-correct, even an illiterate can write a proper sentence.

   The use of abbreviations; most young people, usually students now text each other using abbreviations. They find it fun and easy to use. This habit has affected a lot of students. They tend to forget how to spell some certain simple words. This also promotes lazy readers. 

Students should stop making use of abbreviations when typing. Yes you heard me right. Your friends might think it's awkward to type that way but it helps promote your spelling and reading. 

Practise writing frequently. Writing manually helps you identify your problem so that you can try to solve it. Hand writing promotes your writing skill.
