APC Denies Withdrawal of 2027 Presidential Campaign Council List

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that it has withdrawn the list of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the reports as rumours.

The clarification was made on Tuesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who said the APC had not withdrawn the list. Speaking to TheCable, Morka explained that the party would make an official announcement if there were any changes to the campaign council.

“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” he said.

The controversy followed the recent release of the APC’s Presidential Campaign Council list as the party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections. President Bola Tinubu is expected to seek another term in office.

Since its release, the list has attracted reactions from members of the party and other political stakeholders. Questions have been raised over the inclusion of some individuals and the absence of others, leading to speculation that the party might reconsider the composition of the council.

However, the APC has now moved to put those reports to rest, insisting that there has been no decision to withdraw the list. Morka’s statement also suggests that any adjustment to the campaign structure would be made known through the appropriate official channels.

As political activities gradually increase ahead of the 2027 elections, developments within the major political parties are expected to continue attracting public attention. For now, the APC maintains that its recently released campaign council list remains valid, unless the party announces otherwise.
