FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DECLARES JUNE 12 PUBLIC HOLIDAY NATIONWIDE

The official declaration of public holiday on Friday, June 12,2026 in honor of democracy day.

According to the ministry of interior, the holiday recognizes Nigerians who rose against military rue in a war helped in the restoration of the Democratic government after years of dictatorship.

Government officials stated the celebration is not only about history but also about strengthen commitment to transparency, accountability and rule of law.
